This school year has been crazy busy!
It’s a miracle that we ever have time between balancing our social and academic lives. However, this is of utmost importance… not really
For a month now I’ve been roaming the streets on my new set of wheels. It’s beautiful; deep, shiny red that reflects oncoming lights, and my helmet matches. My mom bought me a bike, a great way to travel and explore Portland.
My latest adventure was taken spontaneously after work on Halloween. It was perfect fall weather and I was not in a rush to be back inside. I pedaled to a local park called Earl Boyles. It was incredible; a tiny, little neighborhood park complete with its own community garden. I inhaled the lush foliage with my lungs, as well as my eyes. Absolutely astounding, I thought. And in the middle of suburbia.
I felt as if I had stumbled upon a secret treasure… I wonder if this is how other explorers have felt… accomplished and set apart. For one moment my worries melted away as I reverted back to childhood.
Climbing on the playground, carefree, laughing at the sky. What a joy to be alive!
